    MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK, A GREAT LEADER AND REFORMER

    Mustafa Kemal Atatürk .......... (be) the father of modern Turkey. He .......... (be) born in 1881. He .......... (choose) the army as a career and in 1915, during World War I, he .......... (lead) the Turkish forces in their defense of Gallipoli and Istanbul. He .......... (end) the war as a hero and the Turkish people .......... (give) him their full support from then onwards. (be) rainforests and tea plantations by the Black Sea, west crop-growing areas on the Anatolian plateau, and dry, desert landscapes in Cappadocia, where ancient buildings are carved out of rock.
